January 10th, 2020 — Today, the mournful news broke that Rush drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart, has died at age 67.

Peart died on Tuesday, January 7th after an almost three-and-a-half year long battle with brain cancer. More specifically, glioblastoma, as shared by Rush‘s official social media pages.

Peart is often cited as one of the greatest drummers that rock and roll has ever seen. With his unique and meticulous playing, Neil Peart created a new way of viewing the instrument and in hand has inspired, now numerous, generations of new drummers and musicians.
His loss is felt greatly by the rock community, and he will never be forgotten.
Rest in Peace, Neil.
In lieu of Rush‘s post (above), here are just a few cancer research foundations/charities that would be extremely appreciative of your donation in Neil‘s name to help fight this incredibly saddening disease and other devastating forms of cancer. Please feel free to leave a comment below with any other charities that aren’t listed here that you recommend.
