On Episode 32 of the Metal From The Inside Podcast, highly esteemed hard rock and heavy metal photographer, Mark Weiss, calls in to discuss his first photo book released in June of 2020: ‘The Decade That Rocked.’ After getting his start by sneaking his camera into live shows in the late ‘70s (shooting bands like KISS, Aerosmith, and Alice Cooper), Mark become the mainstay photographer at Circus Magazine and went on to shoot legendary rock acts ranging from Van Halen to Ozzy Osbourne, and every band in-between. In this week’s episode, Sydney and Mark sit down to chat all things ‘The Decade That Rocked‘ as well as the beginnings of Mark‘s love for music, the stories behind album covers such as Yngwie J Malmsteen‘s Rising ForceOdyssey‘ and Cinderella‘s ‘Night Songs‘, shooting Dokken on ‘American Bandstand‘, working with the often-overlooked hard rock group Badlands, how he managed to adapt his craft during the genre shift of the early to mid-’90s, and as always, so much more.
